Activities at Villas Ecotucan

A short walk down the hill takes you to the magical Laguna Bacalar. Also known as the Lagoon of the Seven Colors, its bright shades of blue are breathtaking. During the day you can spend your time just sitting at and simply admiring the lake, taking a bath in the lagoon, doing some kayak by your own and enjoying the surrounding jungle and the fauna that lives there.

You can also enjoy birdwatching, more than 200 species of birds have been identified at Villas Ecotucan. Other commonly spotted wildlife in the area includes butterflies, coati, tejones, armadillos, monkeys and a wide variety of snakes and insects. .

In the evening, go on exciting night jungle walks to see frogs, owls, pacas, armadillos or tarantulas. Sit by the campfire, look at the stars, or enjoy the reflection of the moon in the lake from a hammock on the dock.

But if you want to discover its beauty and surroundings in an ecological way and direct contact with nature go on one of the guided tours with our friends Jacqueline and Gunnar and their Active Nature.

Located right here at our hotel they offer a variety of tours for everyone, enjoy kayak trips, outrigger sailing,  paddle into hidden lagoons or feel the beginning of the day when joining their popular early Bird Tour.

Tour the extensive gardens of native species or walk our jungle trail on your ownor make it an educational walk with a guide from Active Nature.
